To rent a vehicle from ACT Car Rentals please take note of the following requirements:
Drivers must hold a current open Australian, Overseas or International driver’s licence. If more than one driver will be operating the vehicle then that driver’s licence will also have to be sighted.
Drivers of vehicles must be 21 years old or older.
At the time of car rental, please have your current driver’s licence and credit card with you. We accept Visa and MasterCard credit or debit card for the hire charge.
Before you drive away, you need to have the cost of the rental plus a $500 security bond available on your credit card. The security bond is an amount ‘reserved’ on your credit card as security for the vehicle ACT Car Rentals is providing. This cannot be performed using debit cards.
It is your responsibility to pay all tolls that you use when in a vehicle rented from us. Some roads do not operate cash booths and you must call and pay the toll on your credit card. Road signs on the motorway will show the phone number and website details of the toll road operator. Contact the toll road operator within 48 hours of your trip. If we receive a toll notice in our office then regrettably we have to charge you a $20 administration fee.

All car renters are responsible for their own fuel costs. Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a completely full tank of fuel. Should the vehicle be returned short of fuel it will be refuelled at the customer’s expense with a refuelling fee of $3 per litre.
